Bali Ubud

Tanah Lot Temple Bali

Tanah Lot is an amazing hindu temple in Bali that becomes an island at high tide. That’s because it is build on the rocky Balinese coast and the big waves that surrounds it are also its protection. They also say that this temple is guarded by thousands of venonous snakes nestled in the water preventing bad spirits and negative forces to cross the temple’s gate.

If you are the type that eludes these kind of mystic stories, you can still go there, for the sunset view: in one word it is astonishing.

If any brave souls among our readers, there is a small cave near the temple, with a sign “holy snake”, I would appreciate a photo of it, out of curiosity, since I’m not that brave to pet a snake, holy or not; I feel a chill on the back of my neck even now, only thinking about it :D. If it helps, rumors say it’s small, black and white stripes and not poisonous.

The best shots are taken when the sun goes down, we weren’t lucky enough that day as it was a cloudy one, but we still loved the view.
